- very big in the middle and raised four Braille characters 'BJJI'
   (two above and two below) with indicated auxiliary dots
- left at the edge the relief-like portrait of Louis Braille half from the side
- Text 'LOUIS BRAILLE' half-round at the top in the dot-writing Fakoo
- Among the small sentence 'on ne voit bien qu' avec le coeur'
   (translated 'one sees good only with the heart')
- on right the little numbers of both years 1809 and 1852, one above the other

back:
- centered a coat of arms decorated with a flower border, shown therein:
  sitting Neptune with trident, right next to it one mermaid,
  left next to it an open and filled treasure chest,
  below the text 'RAINBOW'S END' in two lines
- above the coat of arms a outrigger canoe with driver
- at the top edge semicircular the inscription 'REPUBLIC OF PALAU'
- below at the edge the value '5 $'
- left and right on the edge three stars each

contained errors:
- the Fakoo-writing has nothing to do with Louis Braille
- in front of 'BJJI' in Braille is missing the number-sign
  (should represent 2009)

The edition was set ahead of time, for copyright reasons,
because for the use of Fakoo writing lacked consent. instead of
the planned 2500 units were placed into circulation 1200 only.
